I have a 95 F-150 4x4 with the E4OD Trans. When it shifts into od the trans. chatters real bad. I changed the fluid about a year ago and put the additive in and it worked well. I work this truck hard pulling a horse trailer and am thinking of changing the fluid again. Can you tell me what in the best fluid to use and do I have to use the additive with it? Seems I read here some time ago of a mercon 6? Any tips?

MERCON/DEXRON III is the correct fluid. There are MERCON V and MERCON SP fluids, but they will kill the E4OD.
Use a synthetic MERCON/DEXRON III and no additives.
Change the fluid with THIS method to change all the fluid. What's in the pan is less than half of the total.
