I still have the pump somewhere so could take a few close up pic's at the weekend if you're interested

VERY interesting indeed! If you could get some casting # off that pump it would be greatly appreciated. Barring that some good pix.
Im guessing it is a Brand C but Im not that up to date on all OHV's and my 396 Impala is in winter storage.

Leave it up to the English to innovate! The new Stromberg 97's coming from the UK are absolutely beautiful.

From what I can make out in the pictures it looks simular to the 409 pump setup. Its been awhile since I was that deep in a Chebby.

I will get some more detailed pic's numbers etc. at the weekend

I can't claim any credit for this mod for the English as it was done in South Africa.
They had many problems getting parts so mechanics had to be innovative.

I posted some pic's of the water pump, I could not see any casting numbers

The outlets are a little narrow to match up with the holes in the front of the block so whoever did this made the holes larger

Thanks Steve. I take it you looked for # under the pulley

I'll post those pictures around hoping I can get an ID.

I tried to get the pulley off but it wouldn,t budge
I couldn't see a number
If you can't ID the pump I will get the pulley pressed off

The consensus is that the pump is from a Ford FE engine which makes availability very simple as the FE had a very long production life.
Thanks for all your effort.

Now all I need is some spare time to work on replicating it over here.
