They are a real POS. The things never worked very well and were soon discontinued.

Actually I have a CB out of a an 80s Merc. like that. (maybe) This one had the box under the package tray and all the controls on the mike. A large cable ran between and I had to cut it to get it out. I haven't been able to find a wiring diagram for it so it hasn't worked right yet. The neat part of this one was the Ford logo on the microphone and all the works were hidden.
