What kind of temps should I consider ok. I have the edge evolution on an 06 f-250. Not too concerned with normal driving, however when towing and under real hard exceleration I would like to know what is acceptable.
I have my edge set to backdown at 1350 degrees. I think it was 1250 set from factory.
I pull a 37ft 5th wheel through tenn a lot in the mountains, and I seldom get over 1100 (manifold temp) towing it up hill. Now I can get on it and get it up well above that, but I try not to.
When I set still and stand on the accelerator I can get it up to almost 1300, but that is still below my backdown.
I will say that when I added the 4" exhaust it lowered EGT by an easy 100 degrees! EGT is one thing that I really watch too. Heat is somethign that will Kill the diesel, along with too much boost!
