Hi and welcome to the forum 
Are you replacing the ignition switch or the lock cylinder where the key goes in? They are 2 different things on these trucks.
To replace the lock cylinder you turn the key to the run position and then stick a small pick or screwdriver in the hole in the trim piece under the lock cylinder to push the release button in. Then you just pull the cylinder out.
