Would an aftermarket cat be the way to go? If so, any recomendations.

A smaller muffler or a high flow cat or just gut the existing cat you have.

mbbford glasspacks are right up there with splitfire plugs a waste of money the dyno numbers speak for themselves the design of a glasspack nomatter which direction you run it creates a swirling turburlance that creates power robbing affects. there is no high tech design in them they are just cheap mufflers and nothing more. i will leave the glasspacks for the teenagers who just want it to sound tough

those are nice mufflers, but 2.25 duals is the best way to go, still gives you low end power and a nice sound put some 3.5 tips on the end and she'll look sweet

I know they aren't performance mufflers, but if you run them backwards(opposite way of directional baffles) in a 3.5" diameter 7" long peice of pipe they will flow better than a 30" replacement muffler that is 10" in diameter that has a turbo design.

Mine are just there to take the harsh sounds out, that straight pipes create. Oh and they are louder and flow better than a big "turbo" muffler.
