update on idler noise
well, with a 50 degree day in Jan, it was hard to say no to working on the Aero...
I found the idler pulley and the bracket aftermarket for $30 (Napa) This is NOT the same idler on the other ford trucks... you have to replace the whole unit, as the pulley is attached to the bracket...
This could be the easiest thing I ever did :-) I know I will not get 16 more years out of the new one... but Ford wanted $159! so, there you go!
One thing, for those that wanted to know if theirs is failing... with this pulley, you can hear the noise, if you simply rotate it, once it's off tension... I could hear the same noise it was making when on the truck...
Sounds like a very logical thing, but I never thought I'd hear it the same way off the truck, but you do.
Little by little, I'm getting these noises fixed :-) Now comes the harder stuff I think...
Thanks for everyones help on it though!
