Chris, I noticed you're from Ellettsville. You're close to Freedom. I recall driving up 67 past it a few years ago and the sign outside the town says "Home of Jim "Babe" Pierce - Tarzan.
Anyway - I rembered Johnny Weismuller (sp?) but hadn't heard of Pierce. So I Googled him the other day and found that he had played Tarzan in only one film - but had been the radio voice of Tarzan for many years. (No joke - his wife played Jane.) Before delving into acting, he was a basketball player at IU and was a High School football coach in California. One of his players was a young Marion Morrison - who went on to USC, then on to acting as John Wayne. Pretty cool stuff.
And as for 67, if it hasn't changed too much, that would be a perfect road to take a motorcycle up in mid-fall as the leaves are all turning.
I never heard of him either but have seen the sign. Freedom is just down the road from me. I was going to join a gun club down there a few years ago but they wanted $300 a year just to shoot in a feild. 65 isn't a bad road unless you are in a hurry. For a nice sunday cruise I think hiway 46 would be a lot better more hills and curves.
