T-stat temp

I'm going to get e Hypertech programmer and Summit Racing is giving a free t-stat with it. I can get a 160 or a 180. Other than helping to keep the engine compartment cooler are there any other advantages of running the cooler t-stat?

neither , 195 is the correct one. a colder t stat will not keep the engine cooler but will prolong warm up times and increase cylinder wall wear and trick the computer into open loop.

I'm running a 160 stat. No problems. With all the mods I've done, even with the Diablo chip, it seemed to be running a bit lean. Cooler engine temp will have the computer richen the mixture a bit. It runs fine.

A 160 stat is great for A hot rod with A short life span, I wouldn.t do this to my truck.
Everybody thinks the factory engineers are dumb, but theres good reason for the stock 195 stat.

I'm thinking along the same lines as F250Wheels...I wouldn't think the 35* would make a big difference but they put at a 195 in for a reason. I do like to quick warm up on the cold days too. I can't see the point in changing it unless it is really doing to make some type of improvements.
