Hey folks, been throught the archives, havent really seen what I need. The Dana 60 on my dads 75 F-250 is shot, and I've found a dana 60 from a 79 F-350. I need to know if this will bolt up without any modifications. Any and all info is GREATLY appreciated.
I believe it's a direct bolt-in, check your spring pad distances and driveshaft yoke, if they are different it 's a relatively easy fix to swap them out. I have an oddball dana 60 front that I'm trying to find parts for. Maybe you have what I'm looking for. I'm not opposed to paying a pretty price either. As for the other guy looking for a Dana 60 front. It's like the holy grail of front ends man. You just have to search hard and have cash in hand. When you find one, take it. Anyway, if you want to sell parts off that old dana 60 shoot me an email, I'd love to hear from you.

Are you one of the guys that has an open knuckle w/30 spline inners & 19 spline stubs?
I'm really curious about this, being I've never seen one. If the shafts are the same length as the older closed knuckle axles (which I assume would be very possible) I know somewhere I might be able to get you shafts for it... I don't know if he'd be willing to part out the front, but he might be.

By the way, if we are talking about front axles, & if your in Arizona, I'll gladly trade you a '75 front Dana 60 for the 79 one

Yes, my dana 60 front has 30 spline inners and 19 spline outers. I'm sure you have been reading my posts all over the site about it. I have been just trying to ask everywhere I can. The outer shaft measures like this.
11 1/2 inches from center of ujoint cap to tip of splines.
1 1/8 inch shaft
1 3/16 across the splines.
I think you might be right about the closed knuckle. They ran the same kind of hubs I use on those front ends. ( The big fat spicer lockouts.) If you think you have a match let me know. My email address is on the post above. Thanks man.
P.S. I told my friends to check your truck out on the Offroad 4x4 thread where you have picks.
