well... ive picked my entrance song for the fight. ive made it through my "half hour"at practice... ( one at a time the whole team beats the crap out of you for a half hour without a break... point is to break you down til you have nothing left and make you continue to fight back )
now is just the time to rest and heal...
i dont know much about my opponent except a few things- hes about my height and weight ( im 6'1" 203 pounds ) and he has won a "tough guy" competition which doesnt scare me, he doesnt train with a team like i do and he sounded like an idiot when Jamie talked to him on the phone.
my ribs are aching, my right wrist is slightly spranged and my left elbow got hyperextended can hurts from time to time...
the next couple nights are all about resting and healing... last night at practice i worked on jiu jitsu and physical conditioning.
the fight is saturday night at Rochester MN. this is my first cage fight, wish me luck!!!!

ill hopefully be having it videotaped by a friend or team mate, and theres a camera guy always there taping these events too who says he'll sell me a DVD of it, and send it to me for $15.00 cant beat that. i will definantly post that somewhere for everyone here to watch, i just may need a little help posting it and a website thatll host it.

You shouldn´t tell you weakness son openly man, if he comes by this info he´ll try to used them for his advantage, try to be more secretive next time...
Sure i wish you luck! my money (if i had any ) would be on you!
echo- yeah i thought about that, not posted that on here. ill be healed for sure by then, and the odds of my opponent being on here... 1029038957989092 to 1 lol
Good luck with your fight! I love watching the UFC fights... if you ever fight in Vegas you'll have to hook me up with some tickets
haha!! if i ever fight in vegas... sorry John ill NEVER get to that level. ill keep dreaming though. and this isnt actually "UFC" cause thats a trademark.. this is the same style fight though, kickboxing, grappling, jiu jitsu, muay thai, MMA. almost anything goes.
im looking at it this way- i just want to win one or two ammeture fights this year, get a $5.00 trophy and a little bit of cash. 20 years from now i dont want to look back and say "i wish i woulda tried my luck when i was 23"
no need for me to post the video, cause i didnt win last night.
I'm sure you gave it your best, and you can be proud knowing that. It is always better to have tried and lost than to wonder what might have been. I am sure you lost like a warrior and you can take pride in that. Good luck.
Dono
i knew he was going to be a boxer. the plan was, box with him as little as possible, clinch, throw, and execute a take-down for top mount to ground and pound and set a possible submission like an arm-bar or top wrist lock to get him to tap out, or to simply beat him til he taps out. a minute and a half into i lost sight of the whole plan.... and apparrently from my coaches corner it looked worse than it was cause he threw in the towel and stopped the fight.
ill never forget yelling at my coach through the cage saying "i wasnt done, i wasnt done, im not ready to stop." by then it was too late, the match was over. i guess he saw something that i didnt and stopped the fight. im not mad at him, he did what he felt he had to do. im personally dissapointed i lost track of the plan and took punches i shouldnt have. i am also disspointed i didnt have any say in the matter of when i got to quit. problem is though,
i guess it was a bad match-up. a boxer vs. a grappler, and i couldnt get past the boxers punches for the take down.
i tried. now i have to deal with the loss, and the shame, and the swollen eye. i have to remember forever that my friends were there to watch me fail. but, in a couple days ill go back to training and try to move on. i may be fighting again in Feburary. going to work on more stand up, Muay Thai boxing for this one.
WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, HOTROD! What's this crap about dealing with the shame? How many guys do you think are on this forum would have the ***** to get in a cage match? I wasn't there, I didn't see it, don't need to see it. I can respect you for your courage and you need to know-others here respect you for your actions. Now get yer head outa the dark place before this 59 year old man decides maybe you are a wuss and needs to kick yer ----. If YOU can't see that you are heads above the rest, don't expect others to see ya there either.
Nuff said.
