new 460

Can anyone tell me about what year engine this is, on the intake it has DOVE-A3A. Thanks for any help.

i don't know...i'm pretty sure it's a 1970, check the heads for some #'s.

assuming that hte intake hasn't been swapped on, or that the heads, and intake weren't swapped onto a different block it should be 70 or 71 but you can look right above the starter on the block and see what casting number is there if it's a DOVE casting there it's a 70 if it's a D1VE casting it's a 71 but once again that is assuming it hasn't been swapped onto the engine.
