Starting out was slow and I would have to down shift to 2nd going up the mountain hills and stopping was a challange. I dont think you will kill your engine. Does your trailer have brakes?
Jer, Although the 302 isn't a power house, it should pull the car just fine. You didn't say how far you had to tow it, but just give it some room to build speed and have a good trip. Keep plenty of space for stopping too.

I'm borrowing the car hauler from my friend. I'll be hauling it one way from PA to MD, around 300 miles using either I-81 or I-70.
I'm new to the towing/hauling business, so making sure I'm in the safe.
Oz, yup, I installed the dash trim. Looks much better and more complete.
By the way, John, $2500 is a bit too much for me seeing as my latest truck purchase only cost me $250 XLT shortbed, eh? NICE...
