remedies for codes
I have a 98 ford E150 with a 4.2L and 148000 miles. My SERVICE ENGINE SOON light is on and it was tested at an autozone, the following codes came up P1537 IMRC stuck open in both bank 1 & 2, PO171 fuel system on bank 1 was too lean, P0306 misfire in cylinder 6. Please i need help urgently and thanks to all for their important advises.

Welcome to FTE! Glad to have you here.
The IMRC is
Intake
Manifold
Runner
Control
There are two IMRCs - one on each side of the intake manifold (passenger and driver side.)
They are located on the rear of the intake manifold - near the firewall. They operate at approx 2500 rpm (I believe) to alter the intake charge path through the intake manifold. Long runners -vs- short runners.
Sounds like one or both are stuck or otherwise not functioning properly.
It is hard to say what all is or might be wrong with all the codes being reported. I'd disconnect the abttery or have AZ clear all codes and see if they all occured again immediately. You have to start somewhere...
I see you need help urgently, so I assume this is something you want to get fixed quickly. I hope it happens but this might take you a little time to track down.
If you are going to try and do it yourself, I strongly recommend getting a Haynes manual. It would be a big help.
Thanks again for stopping in. Hope we can help and hope you stick around.
Edit: for what it's worth - check your coolant level. Is it low?

Not sure if this has been answered somewhere but..
I also got those 2 same codes stuck open.
I am possibly just going to take off the top of my intake, see if cleaning it has any effect on the IMRC.
I am not really sure wtf a IMRC does but It is an emmission control, I got 60 Days to get my truck re-inspected.
This is probably why I have been using so much gas and needed 2 new O2 sensors.
Any links to pictures or a tut would be cool, I cant find the IMRC anywhere in my Haynes.
oh yeah btw, u can call me a newb.
