Exclamation Installed HPX Line.....Freaking sweeet!

I installed my HPX line tonight, it took about 5 mins to install. Installation was a breeze...take plugs out, put boss's in then connect the ends! I started it up to make sure there where no leaks, then i said to myself. (I can here myself think!) Much quieter now, and i didnt notice at first but it started like it was at operating temp when it was cold. So i double checked for leaks before i drove it. I also disabled the wastegate, now when i start out in 1st gear the RPMs dont drop to crazy numbers....its well worth the $50(and the headache of leaning on your chrome grill trying not to scratch dickens out of it).

On another note, when i was installing the HPX line i noticed oil back underneath the turbo. Looks like it dripped from the bottom of the turbo where the wastegate rod is onto the back of the engine then runs down the side onto the ground. I dont see puddles but when i was underneath the truck inspecting a drop almost landed in my EYE! What should i be looking at here? Thanks

Possibly the o-rings under the turbo pedistal about to fail?? I don't know for sure that's what it is, but I do know for sure that when they do fail, it's a HUGE mess. Mine failed abotu 18 months ago, without warning -- that I could tell anyway, while I was on my way home from work. Pulled into the driveway and what seemed like 2-3 quarts just dripped from underneath the truck onto the concrete.

JMO, but, I would suggest buying the line ITP offers. It is a stainless steel line, and you don't have to worry about changing out a rubber hose once it starts to deteriorate or ruptures on ya. It is a few bucks more, but well worth it in the long run I think. Just my 2 cents worth

I'm in 100% agreement. It was never a question for me which one to buy. I'm very happy with the quality and fit of mine from ITP. Stainless Steel all the way!!

What does the HPX mod do?
Is this mod for all 7.3's or just for 99 and up?

From the ITP site: Stainless Steel High Pressure Crossover (HPX) line connects the driver side and passenger side High Pressure Oil Rails together. This results in a more balanced High Pressure Oil system with fewer pressure spikes. In most trucks, the elimination of ICP spikes and balancing of pressures in the High Pressure Oil Rails will smooth operation and may even quiet the engine somewhat.
