UN-powered overhead console question?

I have an 04' crew xlt f350.

I am trying to find out, before ordering or removing headliner, if there is a mounting plate, etc. beneath my headliner that is used for mounting an overhead console. The truck has cab lights, so there is power there, I just dont know if the plate is a standard manufacturing item. I want to install the non-powered 2005+ overhead console for a CB and/or radar cubby. I also do not know if the roof curve is the same. I am thinking "yes" to both of my questions, but wanted more knowledgable advice. Thanks.

P.S. Please do not refer me to "Shelf-it" products, although the one I had in an 87' model looked good, the one I ordered for this truck looked........well....I sent it back.

the curve is the same. but you may have to pull a power line up there. the cab lights are wired into the headlight circuit. the roof curve is the same, the plate should not be there i am 99% sure on that.

Shelf it is the only brand I'm familiar with. They quit making them anyways. What other kinds are there?
