Hi Ford fans,
I’m looking to purchase a 79’ F250 Super Cap 4x4, it has a 400 motor, C6 Tranny
The Transfer case is a 203 (I think). It has the Hi Lock and Low Lock for full time 4x4.
The owner has converted the hubs to part time, but has not done anything to the transfer case. I wanted to know if that sounds like the np203. If so, I would like to put an np205 in the truck.
What would that take? Would a 205 bolt up to the tranny and would I need to make any modifications? Any kind price range I would be looking at? Any tips or leads would be
helpful.
yes the 205 will bolt to your tranny. But you will have to change your drivelines. But their is a kit availible to convert the 203 to parttime for about 500.00 good luck.
Why would you want to spend $500 on a 203 to convert it, when you can get a 205 for less than half that, and it'll be more reliable and stronger with no chains to break or stretch?
