I have a 2002 or 03 Suzuki Eiger 400 footshift. I have a Superwinch X1 2000lb winch on it that needs a new control. I had a handle bar switch that ran 100% of the power through the switch. It didn't last long. Got crap in it and the contacts looked pretty torched. So I need something new. Here's what I've thought of.
1) Old school rotary switch. They seem simple and tough, but I've heard that they get messed up pretty easily as well. But they are cheap.
2)Low current handlebar switch on a relay. This looks slick and not very bulky on the bars. My concern is the durability. Specificly on the Superwinch Roggle kit. The main downside is the price.
If anyone has any insight or other ideas, I'm all ears. I do pretty extreme 4x4 riding, so the thing has to be weatherproof and tough.
i am unsure of the part # but warn makes a water proof sol. block that is a nice size and would be easy to wire to your winch( i think your winch only has two posts on it.) 1 have mounted many of these on cranes mounted on the back of work trucks and have no problems that i can think of. hope this helps.
the shop i worked at got them from drive products in calgary alberta canada. i hve no idea on price but 80 sounds reasonable to me. i say this because i am sure they come with a warranty. but best to check before buying.
For that price, I'll just get the Superwinch Roggle kit. It comes with a contactor, miniswitch and all wiring needed at Summitracing for about 120. Thanks for the help.
