starts fine when cold then when its warmed up and shut off for 2 to 20 minutes aprox.hard start can crank up to a minute before it will start..It keeps getting a camshaft code.
Hmmm, yours is getting a code. Reason I asked about symptoms, I had a problem with my 00 7.3 starting and my buddy has an 05 with 6.0 and he had a similar problem to me. Start it up fine, drive to the store, maybe make another stop, and then it would not start unless you turned off radio, AC/Heater fan, lights, whatever else might be on. The motor would spin fine as if it were trying to start but just would not fire up. You would hear a rattling sort of clicking sound as it was spinning. Replaced both batteries (his was only 3 months old) and it corrected it for a period of time but started again. Both of us ended up replacing our alternators. Does not sound like this is the problem you are having.
Only a suggestion, you need to be documenting each time you take it to the dealer for any repeat visit and give the dealer documentation stating what is wrong and that it has been in before. If you try to claim "lemon law" on the truck, you MUST have documentation showing that you have given them ample opportunity to fix the truck. Trust me on this, I have been that route with a Ford Mustang once.
Sorry about your problem, but I don't have any suggestions as to what it might be. There is another good SuperDuty forum at www.dieselstop.com. You might post there under the 6.0 Superduty section and see if someone there has some info. Good luck.

If the engine is warm is there a problem with the rings so that compression is being lost and is not high enough to fire the fuel?
Is the motor getting fuel? When it heats up then you shut it off, the heat of the motor will transfer additional heat to other parts. Could this heat be slowing or stopping the fuel?
just some thoughts.
Seems to me that if the motor is getting fuel and compression it should fire...
You need to find a technition rather than parts changer. Just because it set a code does not exactly imply the cam sensor is bad. PO340 or PO341 sound familiar?
The powertrain control module (PCM) needs the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor and camshaft magnetic pickup (CMP) signal to calculate engine speed and position.
I have an 06. It done something similar. They had to replace and injector sensors. Still a little slow starting. I did find that if I turn the key on and wait for the glow plug light to go out and wait another 10 seconds it fires right up. It seems to me the electric fuel pump is not cycled up. Try it. Might work for ya.
