I assume you're talking about the axle ratios, the easiest way is to look on the differential and see if there is a tag on it. Otherwise, you can jack up the rear end, put it in neutral and spin the driveshaft once and count how many revolutions the tires do. That will get you close. Finally, you can go inside the differential and count the number of teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear and that will give you the exact ratio.

the tag would be on the bolts holding the third member in on the rear i have mainly seen them on the passenger side, and tag on the front would be on a bolt holding the cover on. you may have to dig through grease to find it. on the bottom row on the far left there will be numbers like 3 50 or 3L50 the 3 50 is 3.50:1 with an open carrier and the 3L50 is 3.50:1 with a track loc limited slip carrier.
if your truck is original equipment it will tell you alot about it.....but i cant remember if it gives the axle ratio.....you can also go to Fords website (forddotcom) and find the contact us link, then send them an email with your vehicles info (VIN etc) and your mailing address, and ask for a copy of the build sheet....they will send you one free of charge in a couple weeks...i have them for both of my trucks and they have alot of interesting info on them...
