Just purchased some replacement headlights for my 1999 F-150 xlt. What is the easiest way to get the old ones out? ANy tricks and anything to watch out for?
Pop the hood, each light has 2 metal tabs that you pull upward. Sometimes they stick, but just pull till they move, they don't pull all the way out. That releases the head light enclouser. The turn signal is held in by a single 8mm ( I think) bolt.
I know on my 2003 f-150 it is real easy. There are two black tabs on each headlight that you pull straight up on and the headlight housing pulls forward out of the grill so you can access the back of the headlight to replace the bulbs. Again mine is a 2003 so I'm not sure if the 99' is the same, good luck.

I just got some i guess aftermarket Bulbs(50% brighter), I changed out the passenger side ones (without taking out the headlight) but the drivers side is impossible to get to, I tried pulling up on the black latches but the headlight will not come out (2002 F150 Lariat)... did anyone have to use a flathead or something to pry it out?
Yes, some times the little "tabs" that act like a spring to hold the headlight tight, get weged in and won't slide. Had to use a long skinny flat head to work them lose.
Those are the headlights that I'm thinking about installing on my F150 as well. I think that they look really good...still a little hesitant on that purchase.
my hesitation is it may be to much bling on my stock truck. if the inside wasnt so chrome id be all over it. I may put them in anyway. They are only $160 a pair. My stock lights are pretty foggy anyway.
I agree with the "bling" issue. If they were "carbon fiber" or just black then they would be the shizzy! Oh well...can you post a link to those headlights?
