4wd front bearings

I need to check/repack front wheel bearings on my 97 4wd diesel. I've done it on a 2wd, but not on a 4wd. Does anyone have any tips, besides fumbling through a manual which I already have. Thanks in advance for any replies.

If you have a manual its mostly like any 4x4. You need the big socket for the f250 or f350. I think they are different.

Big Socket?

Big socket for what? Maybe I have forgot all involved, since it's been a while since doing the last bearing job.

It's really quite simple. You need the special wrench (socket) to pull the nut off that holds everything together. A new set of inner grease seals as the old ones will get trashed pulling them out (they are probibly worn out anyway). The manual locking hubs are real easy to pull apart and regrease those bearings also. Don't know about the autolockers though....

autolockers

They are autolocking hubs, stock, so I'll work through the manual, and look under search for doing the job. Any special instructions feel free to give me a heads up. Thanks jeff
