No problems with ball joints

Changed all four ball joints with no problem. The only slow down was the spindles. So I took and old air hammer bit. Cut the tip off so it was flat. Popped it out no porblem. The ride sure is different and no more rattle up front.

gatorpsd and vwman80, how many miles on your trucks before you needed/need to replace the ball joints? Are they 4x4 and what type of roads use did the trucks see? Thanks.

Wildstang, I've only got 59,000 on my truck. It's 4x4, but I always drive it on roads of pretty decent quality. I guess it's beacuse it's a non serviceable ball joint?

Sorry I havn't gotten back. I have 227,000 miles on my truck. I notice the tires were laying out. I just got then from napa. The upper ones you don't leave the grease zert or it could break off. Just grease it then there is a little bolt that goes in its place. The bottom you leave it in. At auto zone you can rent a ball joint removal tool. Looks like a 8" C-clamp. It will remove and install them. It's a must in my eyes. Napa has a dana 50 for a F250 spline socket. That was the only place I could find it. I look like a big socket not the one with four prongs. Hope that helps. I took about four hours. I also greased my hub bearing they were bone dry.
