Another weekend gone by and this is what I did. Sanded and primered the 55. First time ever I used a paint sprayer, First time really painting something that size period. LOL, Anyway and anyhow please go look at my gallery. Not the best, but defanantly not bad either for a first timer. Enjoy.
It looks great, keep it up! I remember the first time I primered a car. It makes you feel good when you get it done and step back and look at it. I'm going to try and paint my 48. I have never painted a whole truck before but I'm going to try it. I have done all the work so I mise well try to paint it to. I bought a good gravity feed gun to paint with. I have used it 2 times so far on a hood and door. There is a world of difference in a gravity feed gun. You should try one out sometime, I bet you would think about trying to paint your truck to. Keep on posting some pics. Your truck looks good.
If you decide not to paint it for a while, be sure to seal the primer so moisture can't get thru and start rusting under the primer (unless you used an epoxy primer) With the new base coat clear coat systems, it's hard to mess up a paint job, you can fix imperfections in either layer pretty easily. Main thing is to use the right gun/nozzle for the paint.
Looks really good. How did you keep the air pollution control people away? Did you buy wildflower scented paint?
I left CA when they formed the fireplace patrol to keep you from buring wood in your fireplace. That wasn't the reason, but it definately was fuel for the fire. :-)

Nahhh hell no! Just paid off the neighbor with a couple bucks to keep it quiet. LOL, I just shot it in my driveway and it was done. Took all day but nobody said nothing.
Looks cool! My first 55' was black primed like that for years. About once a year I would poof another coat on it to freshen it up.
Waaaay back when I was in high school it was a fad to primer, wet sand and then some guys would actually wax it.
