93 Explorer 4 wheel drive help
My 4 wheel drive will not go into low range,its works fine in 4wd high. I did all the testing I could on the box in the rear of the vehicle.Also tested the push buttons.Does anybody know how to disasemble the shift motor and clean it up ? Has anybody ever had this trouble before ? I was reading somewhere that it could be the neutral safety switch? This may make sense because I started with this problem after the transmission was rebuilt by a professional. Any suggestions?

I'd look at the nuetral switch. Needs to be in nuetral to get into 4W low. Check that first. Next is what you suggest on rebuilding the shift motor/sensor assembly. Find out how here http://draco.acs.uci.edu/explorer/
