How about a 86 ranger base model 2.3 EFI 5spd? I ran out of gas,put in one Gal., went to station filled up only took 11.5 Gals. Chilton says fuel capacity 15 Gals. or is this another mistake in a long line of mistakes in the Chilton rag.
THX in advance
Dad
The pumps here in CA are really chinsie. They cut off way early. I can get about 1.5 more gallons in my truck after the pump clicks. In my 78' silverado it will take about 2-3 more gallons after it clicks. The pump are like that out here to avoid spillage.
I live in Ca. also, and I ran the tank out again to see how much I could put in, 1 Gal. from can and 11.5 from pump doing exactly what Jim said, so must only 12 or 13 Gals.. anybody ever put in a 17 Gal. tank? What is involved? Will my stock wiring and plumbing work or have to be extended? Any input will be greatly appreciated.
My 1988 Supercab had the puny 14.5 gal. tank, it really sucked on road trips. My 95 supercab had a 20 gal. and my 1999 supercab that I currently have has a 19.5 gal.
GAs light came on today and just like clock work 14.6 gal. went in. I really have tun a long time with the light on to get over 17 in it.
