F series Frame ??
I started looking for a hitch for my "new" 75 supercab. All the places ask wether it is a nrrow frame or wide frame. After measuring it is the wide frame at around 37 inches.
What is the rhyme and reason for the different frame widths??
I eventually want to find a 250 2 wheel drive for the running gear and bigger brakes since I will be pulling with this truck.

the duallies and pre-late77 F250 4x4s had the narrow frame.
SRW 1-tons, all 2wds, 1/2 ton 4x4 and late77-up f250 4x4, 79 F3504x4 have the wide frame.
the wide frame rides better, has room for fuel tanks and spare tire.
the narrow frame is stronger and flexes less, also came in a flat rail style, and allowed a narrow dually rear end.

The date in question is 77's built after March 1st (I think) I used to know for sure.
Anything before that is a narrow frame.
His application must have included all years and on looking it up had a flag come up for narrow frame.
