Is there such a thing? On the '74 F100, does or did Ford use a brake pedal return spring? Mine flops down onto the brake light switch and will naturally run the battery down if I don't lift up on the pedal as exiting the said vehicle. If this were a Cheby, I know it would need a spring. Any ideas? Facts?

Can't answer your question about the spring on 74's...never owned one. But years ago when dino's roamed the earth, I had a similar problem with my 69. Went to the auto parts store and bought a generic package of springs...about $3. After about 2 exchanges at the counter, found a pack with a spring that worked. My 69 pedal was drilled for the spring, but can't remember where I hooked it to the underside of the dash. It's a cheap fix. Good luck.
Another quick fix is a bungee cord. Hookone hook to the brake pedal and the other end wrap around the steering column and hook to itself. Worked for me for two years in my old '74
