Rear seal how far?

When replacing the one peice rear crankshaft seal on a 302, How far does it go in? The front seal has a lip to stop it.

I oiled it up and drove it with block of wood untill flush with the back of the crankshaft. Is that it, or does it go further?

That should be just about right. It wouldn't hurt for it to go in a 1/16th or so further, but you should be fine with it where it is.

Yep,

I replaced mine about 10000 miles ago, and it was flush when I put it in, everything is holding strong.
