Well I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else but a few months ago there was a thread on one of the PS websites cant remember which one that had a link to the NHSTA to try and get something done about CPS failures while driving and it being a safety hazard in some instances. So I figured what the hay and filled out the online form and figured that would be the end of it. Well today I get a phone call from someone stating they are from the NHSTA and they were very knowledgeable about CPS failures and asked alot of questions which I gladly answered except one, they wanted my VIN # well I was driving and didnt think it would be safe to try and dig out paperwork plus was alittle leary of giving a stranger my VIN.
So has anyone else gotten a call? Do you think I should have given them my VIN? They did give me a call back # Admin Note: Please don't remote link avatars from other sites, they pay for the bandwidth and probably don't want to pay to put it in your posts here.

I'm always very suspicious of that sort of thing too. But in this case, since you initiated the contact, I would think that it would help more than hurt. Might want to ask why they need it before letting it go.
