My 66 F100 once stalled at a light on the way to work. Same as you, could only ellict a little bit of clicking from the starter. In my case it was, as jbhf250 indicated, a bad ground connection on the engine. I cleaned up my connections and she came back to life. I would clean and reland power and ground wires first. Could be worn brushes in the alternator. You may have a shop in your area that specializes in alternators and starters. If so, they might test yours for free.
