Hi all,
I recently purchased a 1994 ranger supercab 4x4 3.0 5spd to use to drive around town and go to school(gets better milage than the o'l 460 does) and I was wondering if it would tow our small lowboy (16 ft) trailer with around 1000-1500 lbs of wieght on it with the bumper. And even if it would pull it, do you think it could stop it well?
I have a 93 long bed Ranger 4.0 and I tow a 6x12 enclosed trailer all the time filled with equipment. Just allow time for braking since Rangers only have some much braking power because of there weight & brakes. Also its best to get a heavy duty tran cooler, best if you don’t use overdrive, If you plan to tow a lot you should get a class 2 or better receiver hitch. You also need a heavy duty blinker at lest I had to with all the lights the trailer has on it, Napa auto stores has an electronic blinker for $20.00?
On my front dis brakes I use ceramic brakes pads because they stop better then the conventional ones do, cost $90.00 plus rotors being turned. Get better shocks for your truck
Towing with any vehicle you have to plan ahead allow time for stopping
