I have a Holley 4160 that I have had off the truck twice lately. Before I did the choke worked fine, would high idle and such. The second time I took off the choke to check the vacuum secondary.
Now when cold the choke closes all the way when I press the gas pedal and it will open all the way when warm, but when I first start the truck it won’t run for the first 1-2 min. I have to sit in it and keep it going. No fast idle. I have the wire to a hot when key on. Is there a trick to getting the choke back on right? Also I went to a real tight spring on the accelerator, could this keep it from working?

Reason: addition
It sounds like you got the fast idle cam in a bind when you reinstalled the choke. The stepped cam part needs to free float when the choke is open. Or you might have the rod from the choke plate to choke cover in the wrong place. The end that hooks to the cover needs to be under the fast idle cam.
