Breakin Period
I have an 05 x with 6.0 PS and love it. if i decide to use synthetic oil is there a breakin period before I should switch from factory type oil? I was able to include 3 oil changes from the dealer

Wait till after you use the factory oil at least. In reality, I dont think it matters a whole bunch what oil you use...but I know the older 7.3 really was not broke-in and settled until about 50-75K miles according to blackstone reports on iron in oil. THey claim that a 7.3 will stop showing high iron after 50-75K miles! Thats alot of driving just to break in the engine....most cars just about BROKE at 75K miles....not broke in...lol
