Question about puttin together from a noob

I had started doing my first ever motor work on my Galaxie with a 352 a while back.

I had the heads done, new springs put on, I got a new cam and lifters, put them in, a new timing set, got most of it put together.

Problem is she's been sitting. I never got the intake put on, still need to swap the oil pump and do some other stuff to finsih it up. Can I go ahead and unwrap the motor and continue where I left off?

It's been almost 10 months since I got working on this, I moved, the car was in storage. I'd like to see her up and rolling again. I wasn't building her up, just trying to freshen her up some.

there she is.

Thanks for any input or advise for a rookie trying to get her rollign again.

No reason you shouldn't be able to pick up where you left off as long as water didn't get into anything. And, of course, you remember where all the important parts go.
BTW, nice car.

Thanks for the positive input man.

I wrapped the motor in a bunch of plastic to try and protect it, it's been under a carport too.

I'm hoping to swap the oil pump for a new one without pulling the motor completely, then continue from there. I figure if I break the mounts loose and use a hoist I can get enough clearance to install the pump and clean the pan out.

I still need some more parts, using the stock rocker arms and stands, but I'm going to replace the shafts.

Thanks again, it's been slow, but I hope to get something done soon.

BTW, she's all stock and everything is there including every single piece of trim.

Nice car and by all means finish her up! Sounds like everything was wrapped well. Just check for critters before you seal it all up. I've seen mice nest just about everywhere in a car before LOL. Good luck and keep us posted how things go.
