I seems the rearend on my truck needs to be replaced. It looks like a 9" but I'm not sure. It is a 1965 F-100 2wd with an I-6, and a T-18. All original. Don't have much money for and upgrade, I was sort of thinking about a junkyard special. Any help on identifing it would be appreciated. Thanks.
If memory serves correctly, there should be 10 nuts holding your third member in place to the axle housing. If you look at the rear/backend of your axle, there will be no nuts, just welded all around. I'm not sure if this answers your question.
Could be a Dana 44, I have seen them used in those years on 2 wheel drive trucks. Does it have a cover plate on the back of the axle with 10 bolts holding it on there?
If it doesn't its a 9"
