headers

i am most likley getting headers for my birthday as you most likley guessed the warm air system has to go right? since i think i have to remove this how much is the engine effected with out this system? is there someway it can be retrofitted to work with headers? and how much horsepower would you guys guess headers would add to the engine and if it will make the exuast sound any better as of now the enigne sounds like a honda civic with the muffler off also i am getting an afterburner muffler that will improve the sound as well right? thanks

The only time it will effect the engine is warm-up, a little slower.

Check with the manufacturer on HP gains, then figure 60%.

It should sound a little nicer.

yeh it would but now i decided to not get headers altough they are cool there not easy to install i think just trying to get the mnaifold that have been on an engine sence 1987 is a project in it self also the only ones i can afford are pacesetter i heard they dont fit right and press against the bell housing of the tranny dont come with the o2 sensor port and are not painted with hi temp paint which burns off during the 1st week of use adding to the already present smell of oil from the vavle covers im doing a swap once this motor gos so ill put headers on the 4.0 ill drop in along with a supercharger
