Spool question
If i were to install a spool on my rear end (8.8) would any thing be throw off from the previous gear insatllation? besides switchin over the ring gear, would anything else need to be done? And although my truck is on road alot, as long as the i stay clear of sharp turns a spool wont kill my tires right?

a spool isnt much worse than a detroit or lockrite etc....the lockers just disengage aorund corners when you let off the gas, on the gas its the same.
any time you change the carrier...ie. a full casrrier locker, spool, new open carrier, limited slip you will need to recheck and adjust the gear setup...jus tlike installing new gears.
most likely you will just have to mess with the backlash
