Help needed! Tach troubles

Hey

I've got a 1995 f-150 4.9L standars pickup that I'm trying to put a tachometer in. I Have an aftermarket tach thats a good quality 1 but I'm having alot of trouble hooking it up.

The instructions are kinda vague, and I have the pos neg and backlight wire hooked up ok but the green tach signal wire is causing problems as in where does it go?

I don't seem to have a tach signal wire like it says I should have... am I missing something... I just hope I don't have to buy a tach adapter :>( b/c I'm 19 and every bit counts

If anyone has a picture of what it shoudl look like or something that would be a great help.... I just cant figure where it should go

thanks in advance,

Paul

tach signal wire is the negative side of the coil
the side that goes to the dist.
