Hey guys, I was just wondering how to get my fly wheel off. I don't have access to any impact tools, torches etc. Just good ol' elbow grease. Anyways, should I stick something into the cylinder like a screwdiver, or something stupid like that? Everytime I go to take a bolt out the flywheel just turns, good ol' compression just aint gonna do it for me. Any suggestions?
One thing you might try is to strike your whench with a rubber mallet or something like that. The shock should break the bold loose. Don't be afraid to knock the hello out of it.

If it's in the truck, I've taken a long hefty flat tip screw driver and wedged it between teeth on the ring gear and the frame in the direction that you are turning (counter clockwise-wedge between say 4 oclock position on ring gear and passenger side frame rail) and then use a long breaker bar for maximum leverage, a friend w/ a long breaker bar on the front of the crank might not be a bad idea either. I sure like my air compressor and impact gun though. I've done it w/o enough times however and know I've gotten it off before by wedging.
When I changed from a flywheel to a flex plate, I borrowed a tool that slides over the alignment dowel pin on the engine and has a cog that engages in the teeth of the flywheel. It prevents the flywheel from turning. You might be able to borrow the tool from some place like Auto Zone?
