What Size Engine Do I Have??

I just picked up a 91 Exp. Someone pulled the heads off due to a coolant leak. My big question is, can you identify the engine size from the VIN. 1FMCU22X9MUD63723 I have been told it was either a 3.0 or 4.0. But I can't find anything that tells me which. Thanks for any help.

The only engine offered (from the factory) in '91-'95 Explorers is the 4.0 OHV V6.
