My needle jumps at low speeds, then seems to do ok at higher speeds (100+ mph- 
ha ha!) on my '65 custom cab- I'm thinking about pulling the cable to lube it-has anyone done this; is it a pain, what to watch for, etc? Thanks for the help-keep on truckin!

It may not be your cable. Mine did the same thing and it wound up being the gear on in the inside of the transmission. Not the gear on the end of the cable but the actual gear mounted on the shaft of the tranny. That was causeing the needle to bounce and run a little off. You can pull the speedo cable and look at it and see if the cable gear is worn. If not it will be the one in the tranny.
