Tranny Upgrade

Just wondering what you folks w/ the 7.3 are doing for tranny upgrade? Mine has 98K on a '00 X. Mods dne so far are Hog 4" Turbo Back exhaust, ATS BB turbo, AFE Stage 2 air intake & SuperChips Programmer. I do tow (7 x 12 enclosed 2 bike trailer & 23' Yamaha jet boat on tandem). I also travel 100 miles RT to & from work so I need it to be reliable. Thanks in advance for the posts. Fred

go to www.brianstruckshop.com for all your transmission needs! a torque converter lockup switch would also be helpful.

When the time comes for me, I think I will be getting a "Monster Box" from Factory Tech. It's $3650.00, includes the torque converter and shipping of the new and your core. The Torque converter has a 2 year Warranty, and the Tranny is 1 year. Their site claims the warranty covers shipping, parts, and labor and you can have any tranny shop do the warranty work. And they dare you to do anything with it but extended burnouts, tire warm up burnouts before running a 1/4 are ok.

I'm no expert by any means. As a matter a fact, everything I know about this truck I learned on this site. But it sure seems like a dang good deal for the price.

Here is the link http://www.factorytechtransmissions.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=15

I hope this helps.

Orezona,
Check this out:

Order your Factory Tech Monster Box and it comes with the Factory Tech Billet Diesel converter already installed. Sold separately, this converter alone retails for $950. We can also order you a torque converter separately, call for details.
All converters are warranted for two full years. "......whatever you can do to one short of putting it behind a GE-90 Turbofan, they're pretty near indestructible." G Evans

Ordering Information

The Factory Tech Monster Box retails for $3348.00 with exchange, shipped free to most of the lower 48 states, some remote areas will require a small additional shipping charge. The single sided intermediate clutch option is $100 extra. The Ford Racing Aluminum Pan is $200 extra.

So is "The single sided intermediate clutch option is $100 extra. The Ford Racing Aluminum Pan is $200 extra." the difference in the price? If not, I wonder how DPS is selling them for $300 less the Facory Tech themselves? Thanks for the info.
