shop manual
I have come to the conclusion that I need some sort of a book that covers basic maintenance & repair of my 7.3 IDI. Have any suggestions? Thanks

Chilton makes a good one, if I am not mistaken. I don't have it handy tonite, but I will get the title for you tommorow.

It covers the 6.9l, the 7.3l and also GM's ofeerings. Mine has nothing on Powerstrokes, I think that is a seperate book.

Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual: General Motors & Ford. That is the title. It has always worked for me.

thanks bear, whered you get it?? auto parts store here in town dont sell them you think barnes n noble might have em?? Im not too far from other auto parts stores but i dnt want to drive around just to find a book.

manual for 6.9/7.3
I just bought a '87 from a local and he left the IH factory manual in it for me. Might try getting the engine manual from International.

just a thought.

Yeah, if Barnes & Nobles does not have it in stock they can order it. They had it in stock when I went and got mine. I have also seen it at Autozone and Advanced Auto stores.
