dana 60 swap? help?
also i tried looking at a few pics on google earlier...and that got me confused. i noticed that some had the pumkin on the pass side and some were on the driver side. if i take one out of an f350, it should be on the same side right? i think the others were for a dodge or somethin??? any help would be much appriciated!!!
also i was told i can find my gear ratio w/ the vin #, is this correct? or is there an easier way to make sure that i get a d60 w/ the same ratio of my rear end...which by the way i have no idea what it is eaither (i think 4.11 but not sure)

As far as swapping it, it's very straighfoward. No suspension changes are made, just take the TTB out and the solid axle goes in. You will probably need u-bolts, etc., but I'm not 100% on that.
All Fords are driver's side differential - but Dana also made front axles for chevies and dodges. If you notice, all new trucks are driver's side diff these days.
Your gear ratio is not in the VIN. It's on a tag on the differential housing, and also on the sticker on the driver's door jamb. Post the code or look it up in the tech articles section here.
