Hi everyone. I have a question about my sons' 1996 Explorer. If anyone out there can help me I would really appreciate it. Acouple of days ago, his heater just quit heating up. He said the reseviour is full and so is the engine. He lives 100 miles away, so is hard to do long distance mechanic work lol. I think maybe the thermostat stuck open??

Tell him to feel the heater hoses, they should both be very hot. If they are the problem is under the dash with the blend door

If the hoses are not hot is the temp gauge reading where it normally does?? If not the T-stat is probably stuck open.

Hopefully, it's the t-stat which is an easy fix. The blend is quite a bit more involved.
