Yesterday i've received a code, that ECT signal is too hight. I dicided to reset codes, but it appeared again, CE light appeared too. But She runs well. Today, I see the other code, that its signal is low... So what Hight or Low? What can it be, may be harness. Who knows, how to test ECT, its resistance, supply voltage and signal voltage? Gauge shows correct temperature (I can comapre, I have the additional digital sensor).
C #24 is I.ntake A.ir T.empurature sensor out of range>
should be located in plastic tube from air box to TB
listed in both Chilton's and Haynes
don't find any test values for pre 90's Aero's IAT
directly related to the c #51

Both sensors go bad at the same time? Not very likely in my opinion. I would check the reference voltage from the PCM first.
Anyways, here is a table of resistance versus temperature, which is the same for both Air Intake and Coolant Temperature sensors.
120 Deg. C 1.18 KOhms
100 Deg. C 2.07 KOhms
80 Deg. C 3.84 KOhms
60 Deg. C 7.70 KOhms
40 Deg. C 16.15 KOhms
20 Deg. C 37.30 KOhms
10 Deg. C 58.75 KOhms
The Air temperature sensor is on the driver's side of the Throttle Body, which is kind of hard to see. The Coolant temperature sensor is on the intake manifold, and it has a two-wire connector. If you see a single wire connector, that's for the temperature gauge and has nothing to do with engine operation.
Thanks! Code 24 dissapeared after warming up! It was very cold 2 days ago. -20 C. Today is -5dgr C, and I can see no code #24.
I will test this sensor today!
I throw lots of codes now in my old age at -20d C, Pablo....arthritis seizes up in hands and legs, ECU/PCM says "Stay in house".
how is the natural gas heating situtation there? we'll trade you an Enron/Bush for a Gazprom/Putin. my wife is an CPA/energy trader for major energy company here so hear all the insider stories...many here putting out $500 to $1000 a month for natural gas generated electrical heating or natural gas heating...
gasoline back up $0.20 a gallon since first of year...look for $4 a gallon diesel this year
It is not cold home. Natural gas prices for peopele are not changed. The problem of ECT is solved by rteplacing. But there are 2 unused connectors under the hood. One of them is the same as ECT connector. What it can be used for. I will post photos a bit later.
Who knows how to add nock sensor (there is a place on engine for it)? Should I add harness or I have to change ECU?

The connector similar to the ECT connector is unused and it's reserved for rich folks with a digital dashboard. Poor folks like us with an analog dashboard don't use it Don't know about the other connector, probably the same deal.
is #1 the base timing plug that sets the ECU to 0d electronic base timing so that the distributor on early 3L Aeros can be adjusted for mechanical base timing?
I am also getting the red X's. I tried opening a new a window and pasting the properties link, and it would get the could not find screen. I have a fairly fast cable modem, so I don't know.
