EGR plug
Mine was unplugged for 16K - 17K miles. I plugged it back in, cleared the codes and drove for about another 400 miles with no problems.
I did all this to get her ready for a recall. Low and behold the dealer replaced the EGR valve any way. Mainly because it was the original and not the new improved
version.Left the new one pugged in for about 500 miles to see if I got any enhanced performance or MPG gains. ...None noted. Unplugged new EGR Valve and turbo lag was reduced again. Go figure.
Still happily unplugged at 26,000 miles.
was it ever quiet! Almost sounded like it was running on 93 octane Super unleaded gasoline.. hehe. My questions are as follows...........
1. With valve unplugged, should the valve itself and/or the connector that was removed be either capped, or covered to prevent any contamination?
2. I scrolled through the digital readout options on the dash (setup/info) and got to "Diag. Trbl. Codes: None"... is this telling me that unplugging valve did NOT set any codes?
3. 1805 is in the near future.... when I go to load programs, will they load properly, or will I have to start w/ valve plugged in (in stock form)?
TYVM for the unput............................. 'BR'
