I guess I kinda have two questions first is the tech articles. I tried looking up articles out of the index and there is no link etc. to take me to the old ones what am i doing wrong?
The second is I have a small exhaust leak at the manifold its small enough not to warrant a strip down and face off but its loud enough to irritate. I have tried tightening to no avail. Does gasket replacement work without machine work? Sorry about the long post and thanks in advance for your help.
Generally speaking, you don't need to machine the manifolds. You should remove the gasket, clean the surface and put the manifold up to the mating surface and look for an uneven contact. Look for bumps where something might have been dropped or scrached. Inspect the bolts for poor threads and check the gasket for proper alinment, I've had two different ones not line up properly and finally just cut the holes and made it fit. Use a bit of ultra-copper sealer and torque down in steps to final torque.
After engine has run a bit, recheck torque and then a few weeks later.
