05 misfiring
It's a long story so...I've got an 05 Expedition with 19,000 miles. Last October it started running real rough and the engine light came on. Took it in to the dealer and they replaced 3 injectors and all the spark plugs. Said they put in a new spec plug to replace the originals. Everything was great until two days ago. Same symtoms so we took it in today to get it fixed again. This time they find the compression in the #6 cylinder is really low. They suspect the malfunctioning injector dumped an excess of fuel into the cylinder and during the compression stroke it bent a rod. Sounds plausible but am wondering if anyone else has seen this happen? Our dealer is fairly small and they tell me they can't get to it for over a month. They added that we probably need to replace the engine and they don't sound like they even want to take on the job. Any feedback?
